Yacht Insurance in St. Louis, MO and Columbia, IL

Protecting Your Yacht

Any type of vehicle is always exposed to some sort of risk.  Then add in the fact that it’s on the water and you’re in for even more complications.  Topped off with the fact that your vehicle is much more expensive than most and the reasons for having the proper insurance on your yacht become very apparent.  At Meyer Insurance Services, we have a specialized boat and yacht program to keep your vessel safe and protected.

Because we’re an independent insurance agency, we have unique access to a variety of providers including United Marine Underwriters, Auto Owners, and Travelers.  This lets us pick out a coverage plan for you and your yacht that is customizable to your exact needs.

What is Agreed Value for Your Yacht

At Meyer Insurance, most yachts are written on an “agreed value basis”.  This means you and the insurance company agree to the value of your yacht before, not after the claim.  We do this instead of traditional polices like stated value, which only limit the amount the insurance company will pay.

We also look at your boat, including tenders, dinghies, and anything else tied to its value.  Most of our companies don’t upcharge you, on the off chance something happens.  You’ll be covered for the actual amount you’re owed, not a random generated guesstimate or ACV.  We realize that yachts aren’t as common as a run-of-the-mill vehicle, such as a car and the value is much more specific to the vessel itself.

Our process is simple from the moment we sit down to talk about your yacht to the time we quote you.  In fact, it really is that simple.  We really want to make you as comfortable as possible during the shopping process and will keep you in the loop during the duration of your policy.  This includes reviews and checkups whenever we think it’s necessary or new programs are announced.

Keeping Your Vessel Covered

Our program covers a variety of issues including:

  • Vandalism
  • Collision with another boat or object
  • Theft
  • Damage caused by uninsured or underinsured boaters
  • Pollution Coverage

We can also cover costs that you may incur because of damages to the yacht:

  • Bodily Injury payments
  • Damage to another’s property
  • Medical Payments
  • Guest Passenger Liability
  • Fuel Spill Liability

In addition to all of these, we offer many more coverages.  Check out our Boat Insurance page, or contact us for more information.

Smooth Sailing Ahead

Our owner, Greg Meyer, actually got his start insuring yachts and high-value boats in the St. Louis area after a long career working for the insurance companies.  As an agency, we use his experiences to understand exactly the needs yacht owners have and the types of coverages they should secure.  With Meyer Insurance, you’re guaranteed to get a plan that fits both you and your unique situation.  Whether you’re sailing the “Loop”, live aboard year round or taking a quick trip up the Mississippi or across the lake, we will make sure you’re all set.

It is your passion, your dream. Protect that dream for years to come with the right policy from Meyer Insurance Services, Inc.  Talk with one of our local insurance specialists today to learn more about Yacht Owners Insurance.
